Marc

Vilarassau i Alsina

He was born in Barcelona in 1968. He entered the novitiate of the Society of Jesus in Zaragoza in 1990. After taking his vows he returned to Barcelona where he finished his studies in architecture at the UPC. In 1995 he went to live in San Salvador, where he stayed for a couple of years. It was an experience that marked him deeply. He then studied theology, first in Barcelona (where he was ordained in 2002) and then the licentiate courses at the Sévres Centre (2002-2003). He returned to Catalonia to live in Lleida, a city where he carried out a great educational and pastoral work at the Raimat school and the parish of Sant Ignasi. He was a teacher of various subjects, a high school consiliary, a vicar in the parish and a collaborator in the IREL. It was in Lleida where he celebrated his last vows (2010) shortly before illness forced him to return to Barcelona. During this time he continued to transmit his experience through writings that he published in a very popular blog. He died on 15 October 2013 in Sant Cugat del Vallés.
